This entire install only took about 2.5-3 hours and other than various screwdrivers, nutdrivers, etc, only required a hacksaw blade and a file.
- This is the slot with the cupholder already out and all the trimming done. You need to trim the bottom down about 1/8" and the top about 1/4". Make sure you trim the dash support piece (circled in red) down to match as it will support the unit you're installing. Use the file to get it all even and smooth.
-The sleeve installed. Note the support piece in the second pic.
- You will need to trim the duct work for the defroster vent back about 1/2". I trimmed it to where the red line is.
- You can see the trimmed duct work here. I covered the opening with a piece of duct tape (this is duct work after all...lol), but I'm going to go back and make some sort of plastic piece instead. You will also have to re-route the flexible hose for the side window defroster up and out of the way. You may need to disconnect it, pull it out and then put it back in.
- The computer does have to be moved. I turned it on its side and put one end up into what I believe to be an opening for something to do with the A/C. I don't have A/C, so its not a problem. I'm not sure what you would do if you do have A/C. The little silver box hanging down is for my digital speedo.
- The computer all hooked up. Its kind of a tight fit. I zip tied it in place. I'll build something later, but I wanted to get it done.
-This is the only other thing you need to do to make it fit. Cut a little off the top of the glove box as shown. Keep trimming until it fits. You can always cut off more if you need to.
-The finished install with the old cupholder front. I had to extend the button to pass through the cupholder front. In the open pic, you can see the little brackets I made to attach it.
